My third book, Painting the Sidewalk with Water: Talks and Dialogs about Non-Duality, has just come out in a new 2023 New Sarum Press edition, now available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats. The book is based mainly on transcripts of meetings I held in the early 2000s, mostly in Chicago, where I lived at the time. The book was originally published in 2010 by Non-Duality Press. When NDP became an imprint of New Harbinger, a second edition came out that corrected one factual error and a few typos in the original, but was otherwise the same text, with a somewhat different cover. This new edition from New Sarum has the same text as the corrected New Harbinger edition along with a new author preface and a newly designed cover.
And for the curious among you who might wonder what I have been reading lately, here’s the answer. Most recently, novels:
The Passenger and Stella Maris by Cormac McCarthy
Lessons by Ian McEwan
The Committed by Viet Thanh Nguyen
Other recent favorites, all nonfiction, have included:
Easy Beauty: A Memoir by Chloe Cooper Jones
Zen Confidential and Single White Monk by Shozan Jack Haubner
The Greatest Evil Is War by Chris Hedges
Wild Mind, Wild Earth: Our Place in the Sixth Extinction by David Hinton
War in Ukraine: Making Sense of a Senseless Conflict by Media Benjamin and Nicolas J.S. Davies
And I follow several things on Substack including Useful Idiots with Aaron Mate, Katie Halper, Matt Taibbi and others
New Edition of Talks & Dialogues
Hi Joan - what a terrific selection of reading recommendations. I already purchased the David Hinton book and am a happy owner of your own book.
Hello Joan. Great to see that you're out there! I saw your list of substacks and noticed Aaron Mate and Matt Taibbi. Going by this, I assume that you too have witnessed the entire world turning upside down and inside out. Almost overnight! Life has always been weird. How did it get so much weirder? So fast?...
