Dear Joan, thank you for the preview of your book-in-progress. Your ability to express the ineffable is a gift. And maybe we need to hear it again and again precisely because there is no concept to grasp. Your writing helps us by reminding us NOT to grasp… anything. Be here now.
Ahh yes, prepping for procedures. I, like many of your readers I’m sure, know that drill quite well. My thoughts are with you, and I have a day with no plans on Monday… I will be visualizing the steady and skillful hands of your surgeon.
Now(here) reminds me of the ‘hole’ in Wholeness…how there are two sides to everything…until you know yourself as the no-thing in everything. Thank you Joan.
In my experience, ‘abiding in awareness’ that is spoken about so much is just another juicy hanging fruit for the mind the grasp…the human experience is the magic…the inexplicable miracle that is Now with a capital N.
For a long time I was caught in the trap of trying to ‘see beyond’ or to see my human experience from a different perspective but of course these are goals and positions that the mind loves to grasp and attain.
Ultimately you can only look here and now and for all of us, there Here-Now is a beautiful human experience so embrace it and tune into the miracle of anything appearing at all!
Thanks for your email support Joan. All the best on Monday
Ah, Dearest Joan, I have recently finished your book, “Death, the End of Self Improvement.” It was my first encounter with you and your work and I don’t think I’ve ever read anything so searingly honest and frank about the experience of being a human. You write about pain; physical, emotional and spiritual, without rancour or self-pity but with such sincerity, candour and joy and love. For me, that book is such a blessing. Thank you.
I sincerely, profoundly wish you well tomorrow and for a speedy recovery.
All best wishes flow your way, may your path be smooth and without hindrance.

Peace embraces you, with every breath.Just that. All that is going on, is going on flowing in the only permanence…Peace.
