A while back, I was interviewed by Jonah Primo for the “Work in Progress” section on the Sam Harris Waking Up app. We discussed my early spiritual leanings, my political activism, my experiences with addiction and compulsion, and we talked about mindfulness, awareness, free will, and the interplay between ambition and acceptance.
As many of you know, there is also a series of “Explorations of Being” that I did for the Waking Up app, and there’s a conversation between me and Sam Harris on the app. You can find both of those at the link below, along with a thirty-day free trial of the app, no credit card required:
I’ve been very impressed with this app and what it offers. It includes courses on meditation, guided meditations, talks, interviews and explorations with a diverse group of people including Sam Harris, Adyashanti, Alan Watts, John Astin, James Low, Charlotte Joko Beck, Rupert Spira, Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, Richard Lang, Henry Shukman, Stephen Bodian, Gangaji, Loch Kelly, David Whyte, Jim Newman, Jud Brewer, Oliver Burkeman, and a host of others.
If you have any problem with the links or with getting the free trail, contact support@wakingup.com. And if you want to subscribe after your free trial but can’t afford it, they are very generous with free subscriptions for those who need them. I very highly recommend it.
Love to all…
I think the app undersells the "Introductory Course". In my experience, if anyone had any interest in this, I would say, that introductory course could very well be the beginning and end of anything you need to point at what we're pointing to. Great stuff. Good job, Sam.
I found you and your writings through the app Joan, and I am so glad I did. You really make a difference - at least it appears like that to me. Happy to be told you don't make a difference, I feel like any assertion is bound for the bin. I am happy either way or not!
