This is a very deep and beautiful talk about recent and on-going events in Israel-Palestine given by Jewish Zen teacher and poet Norman Fischer. It touched me very deeply. It’s not a political talk—it’s not about blame—it’s not offering any spiritual opium—it’s about how we bear the suffering in the world by returning to body and breath and silence, by knowing that we contain it all, by allowing the heart to be open and to feel the raw pain, by growing in compassion. It includes Norman reading Thich Nhat Hanh’s powerful poem “Please Call Me by My True Names.” I recommend this talk very highly. You can listen to it here:
