Thank you; it's good to have your words. I am on a week of quiet and writing and painting that I do at least yearly and have for many years, with a small group of women near the beach. Your reflections add a lovely accent to the day, a reminder, a place of reminder, a comfort.

Awareness before during and after consciousness attention and thought as

stated in ch on Awareness . more assurely Nothing To Grasp . My awareness

before my egoic mental chatter of and even before I ever heard of the "concept"

known as nonduality . Beyond the sound and fury of words , signifying nothing to

grasp . Congrads on continualy pointing out the contrast between the concepts

of duality and non duality rarely seen on nonduality.com.

Dear Joan,

I enjoyed reading the 1st three paragraphs about your retreat. Haven’t gotten to the rest

I appreciate hearing about what home retreat time is like for you (structurally, and your experience) so I can compare notes with what my own home retreats are like

So grateful for your sharing and gentle wisdom

🤗

Every year's retreat is different. I don't go in with a plan other than not being on the computer, not socializing, not using phone or email, not holding meetings, not reading or writing very much if at all, and being generally silent and quiet. Beyond that, it's quite open. Sometimes I do nothing but sitting and walking in silence, sometimes I do an hour or two of housework or catching up on off-line paperwork during the week, sometimes I read and write a little, sometimes (like this time) I even watch a movie or a few episodes of a good TV series on one or two evenings. I play it by ear. 🙏

Thank you, Joan. One of the miracles of present living is the ability to receive wonderful messages like yours from nowhere and have them truly help make it possible to be, to relax, and to enjoy all of this infinitely varied, constantly changing, silly, mind-blowing, quotidian everything. Happy new year to you, dear Joan!
