Nice Zen phrase when all else fails: "Abide in nonabiding". Appears to be similar to what you described.

Hi Joan, this was so very helpful to read this morning. I am about to take a trip back east and a certain amount of panic usually is part of my planning/packing. It was good to just be with the panic instead of running from it.

Have a great trip! As u know, I no longer travel, but when I did, I'd get anxiety during the planning/packing/getting ready to go part...once I was out the door, I was fine...and I didn't get it while packing up to return...only in the outbound planning/prepping/packing. So I can relate! 😎 Anyway, I hope the trip goes well in every way. Glad u liked the post. ❤️

I get panicky too when I leave for a trip,it starts weeks before. I think it’s because unconsciously we fear losing the security of home and on the way back it’s ok because we know we’re going to be safe at last. Psychology would say it’s agoraphobia🤣

Actually, for me, it's organizational anxiety about whether I'm going to pack everything I need and whether it will all fit in my suitcase, and have I remembered all the things I need to do at home before I leave, and sometimes anxiety about whether my airport ride will show up...and on the return, none of this applies anymore. So it's much more relaxing to prepare for that. But depending on where one is going and for what reason, I can see how there could be anxiety about what's ahead and undoubtedly has been some of that at times for me as well.

Yes yes yes, all that organizational anxiety happens for me too. I start packing 3 days before departure! And sometimes I even pack and re-pack...

Once again your writing comes just at the right moment! I had a very similar experience today, just couldn’t get myself out of a really dark place and resisting all of it. Letting be is so hard!

I feel strongly to compliment and thank you for these life changing writings, but I cannot find the right words. I feel into the truth expressed here. I know I’m in the right place. The love, the honesty, the humor, the harmony of seemingly paradoxical insights dancing together. When I read this, I find place for everything that comes up, so there is no resistance. There is never a thought “Yes, but...” or “what about...”, it is all compassing in, between and behind the words. Thank you so much.

Joan, you are the only person who talks and writes and teaches about non-duality or whatever name it has, that speaks exactly what happens in my 'life/spiritual practice'. At times I seem to have encoutered nirvana, just to be thrown back into hell the next moment and feel 'confused' about this whole thing. There is no confusion because it is as it is, as you so wonderfully say it. All the other teachers make it seem like they never go through 'hell' or that once you 'got to that blissful state, you'll never leave it. Soooo not true!!!! Thank you for showing me that there's only one pathless path! Much love to you!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your compassionate and insightful writing. I am always appreciative and grateful to be reminded to look deeper within and to open more fully to what is. And to have compassion and empathy for all.
