"It is all an offering of a deeper and deeper trust, no matter what is playing." "Every thought is a violence to the silence." Perhaps you would resonate with Devaji's offering, "What is the Source of War"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEv-9KULkdc
Hmmm. While I didn't resonate with the line that, "Every thought is a violence to the silence," that line itself being a thought, of course, I did give him a listen. I'd never heard of him before, although I think maybe I had vaguely heard of David Waldman, which I guess was his former name--he is, or was, apparently living not far from me in Mt Shasta. Anyway, to be honest, I found his delivery style off-putting--it felt like some kind of hypnotic (almost oddly sexual) seduction--and while I did like some of what he had to say, it just wasn't my cup of tea. But I'm assuming he does appeal to you, and we all resonate with different things, and that's fine. 🙏
Thank you, Joan, for your helpful discussions and the perspectives you have brought to our consideration of events in the Middle East this past month. They have been very valuable in helping me feel the whole situation. Somehow the moving Thich Nhat Hanh video, which Mary and I just watched, served to bring it all together in my heart and mind. I understand and to some degree resonate with your current sense about shifting your attention back to focus more on what is most central to our lives.
I did listen to, and do highly recommend, this program: Ezra Klein talking with Zack Beauchamp about what Israel should do, what the options are, what works and what doesn’t in fighting terrorism—excellent discussion: https://youtu.be/M7K327quaEc
It is a fine line. Thankyou for sharing. With you as silence. And as despair. The evening reaches gold hands through the Northern windows. Shadows waltz unaided, beautiful across the furniture. Like a played piano
In bed, dreams of entrapment and murder. I wake up wet with sweat.
If anyone truly believes that war is inevitable, I dare to contest.
There are a select over class that choose war for profit, and there is an oppressed class that go to war without choice, in a desperate bid for freedom. And there are the gullible, who are manipulated by the societal con to choose sides and the air of retribution carries contagion, like Lord of the flies
But the majority, choose peace.
The same peace permeating my itself. That makes its nest inward. Empty. Full
Thank you Joan... I feel that our little o big contribution is to feel the love compassion in our being heart... the world is in turmoil that’s a fact ...Love to All
